"Sandalwood Downs" is our 10 acre property, an hour out of Perth, surrounded by hills and tall eucalypts, with the Julimar Forest being just over the hill a few minutes away. We back onto 'Culham' - a 2000 acre farm, and are set back from the road so have few neighbours and spectacular views with all the benefits of farm living, but without the work...well not much anyway!! Currently we're in the process of creating a sandalwood plantation in our back paddock, and have a number of seedlings already well on their way. We're looking at harvesting the nuts off our mature trees in a month or so, and with the reticulation being put in over the next few weeks, should have something to show for it within six months or so. We're part of Phillips Brook Catchment Group and have done quite a large amount of revegetation to our property and others in the area, so in a few years time our property will go from being mainly cleared to predominately trees. The brook runs down one side of the property and we have another small creek running through the back paddock which run through the wet season - a dog's paradise!
