I prefer to work with a client step by step when creating logos in order to come up with a design that fits their needs. This way they are part of the design process and get exactly what they are looking for.

Generally when creating a logo, I am requested to come up with a unique look and feel in order to promote a new company or revamp and modernise an existing company. Occasionally the logo design is required to fit in with existing graphic materials such as brochures, using particular colour schemes or elements of old logos such as the text style. After discussing what a client would like to see, I give them approximately 6 - 10 completely different designs for them to choose from, depending on the budget limitations. Once the design concept is chosen, I then re-work it and then submit it to the client. The text is then chosen, followed by colours. Finally, I work out different layouts that can be used and create the final logo in Illustrator, saving it out in tiff (for digital work), eps (for print jobs) and Illustrator format (so that colours etc can be amended in the future or the eps files resized and re-saved).
